Friday the 13th has many unlucky, sinister connotations, never more so than when it lands in the year of our lord 2020. That said, for all of Jason Voorhees’ many faults, he was way ahead of the curve on the mask front and understood the importance of a good sequel.
This Friday, November 13th, Surly releases the 2020 batch of 13, our maple barrel-aged imperial stout brewed with vanilla beans and lactose. Expect notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, and aromatic vanilla atop the rich maple flavors coursing beneath this luscious, decadent ale. We previewed this beer last year to much acclaim at the Festival of Barrel-Aged Beers in Chicago and released it for the first time on December 13th, 2019.
This limited-run beer can again be found in package as an individual 16 oz. can in an impossibly cool foil-embossed box designed by our remarkable creative team and executed with a vengeance by St. Paul’s Studio On Fire.
