The Surly Set List

Slowly but surely, live music is returning. Beloved venues like Minneapolis’ First Avenue are reopening. The daily influx of new concert announcements, from stadium shows to nightclub gigs, are a welcome change of pace from Zoom concerts. If you’ve also found yourself giving a standing ovation to the busker playing atrocious Dave Matthews covers outside the Chipotle, you understand.

In other words, the timing for the 2021 Surly Set List, our thunderous new variety pack, couldn’t be better.

Every playlist or mixtape worth a damn sets the tone with an undeniable opener. Needless to say, Furious IPA is this Set List’s Side 1, Track 1. The rest of the show is all killer, no filler:

Fuzz Box. Named after the device that gave the world “Satisfaction” and inspired 100,000 garage bands, Fuzz Box spikes a tart ale base with passion fruit, orange, and guava, sending the beer into tropical overdrive.

Sonic Distortion. Dry-hopped on Citra and Mosaic, this bright, citrusy ale delivers an encore-worthy burst of hops at a lower ABV.

Sabrotooth Tiger. Speaking of encores, our most popular seasonal of 2020 returns to the stage. This IPA centers the ferocious Sabro hop and its formidably fruit-forward bite.

The Set List is available to all Surly markets. Please don’t yell “Freebird.”
