Surly makes donations to charitable events as our way of giving back some of the love that our community has shown us through the years. To do this, we have a donation committee that reviews donation requests and determines if it’s a good fit for Surly to help out.
If you have a donation or sponsorship request, please read guidelines below, then fill out and submit the form below if your event qualifies.
Who we will donate to:
We have chosen a few areas of interest in order to donate to a wide range of organizations:
- Education
- Arts and Culture
- Environment
- Human Services
Who we will not donate to:
- Organizations without 501(c)(3) status
- Individuals and private fundraisers
- Political organizations/campaigns
- Religious activities
- Children’s groups
- Athletes/recreational teams

Additional Details:
If your event is less than 30 days away, it will automatically be declined. (It pays to plan ahead in life.)
All donation requests must be submitted online. We do not accept paper or in-person donation requests.
The organization must provide a liquor license (and proper permitting where applicable) in order to receive any donation of beer.
You will be notified via email whether your request has been approved or denied within two to three weeks of submitting your request.
All Twin Cities metro area beer donations must be picked up at Johnson Brothers, our distributor location in St. Paul. We will need to schedule your pick up day at least four days in advance. No exceptions.
All Surly sack gift bag donations must be picked up at Surly’s corporate office located across the street from the brewery between 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. Donation pick up dates and times MUST must be prearranged.
We do not provide staff to work at events or deliver donations.
