Roughly every Friday from now until Darkness Day Eve, we hope to share a little bit of news on the event, which you may have heard is taking place on Saturday, September 29 at Somerset Amphitheater in Somerset, WI.
For the inaugural post, we want to start off with a bang. Here, then, is the 2018 Darkness bottle art, from the 2018 Surly Featured Artist, Michael Iver Jacobsen:
Michael is a St. Paul-based illustrator whose work has appeared in Men’s Health, Mental Floss, the Star Tribune, Minnesota Monthly, and more. Check out his website for more cool-looking shit.
That fearsome minotaur will not only appear on this year’s Darkness bottles (and next year’s Barrel-Aged Darkness bottles), but also grace the outside of our much-anticipated Darkness variant bottles. In addition to the art, let’s also announce the three variants:
- Rum-barrel aged w/Coconut
- Tattersall Fernet-barrel aged
- Bourbon-barrel aged w/Vanilla Bean & Cherry
The run on these three is 1000 bottles each. They will ONLY be available at Darkness Day.
Coming soon: ticket details, guest breweries, bands. Stay tuned.
