The Surly Gives A Damn Donation Garden is moving back to the neighborhood! We could not be more thrilled to have our little donation garden back in Prospect Park and with our friends at Malcolm Yards. We are getting a little bit of a late start, in regards to the growing season, but that won’t stop us from growing as much as we can this year for Every Meal. This will be our 10th year running and have donated over 8,500 lbs of food so far.

Everything we grow in this garden gets donated to Every Meal with their Grow & Give Program. More than 300,000 children in Minnesota live with food insecurity and Every Meal fights back by focusing on filling the food gaps children face on weekends, extended breaks, and summer when they’re not able to access school meal programs. Our garden donations help fill those gaps with fresh produce.

We are looking for summer garden helpers. NO, YOU DON’T NEED EXPERIENCE. We have opportunities to be daily waterers and weekly (or monthly) garden helpers. Garden helpers meet on Monday evenings from 6-8pm to weed, harvest and tend to the garden (they will actually be raised beds). After we tend to the garden, you bet we will have a beer!
