It’s time to make it official: Surly is expanding distribution to St. Louis starting the week of June 10. The initial launch will be draft-only, with bars and restaurants pouring core brands like Furious and Axe Man for Surly Nation’s newest outpost.
“I’m not sure there is a market where we get more requests to bring Surly brands than St. Louis,” said Bob Repp, vice president of sales, Surly Brewing Co. “We’re thrilled to be able to tell the craft beer community that we’re available in the market now, just ask our social media manager.”
Here’s the relevant data:
- Surly will have four distribution partners for the St. Louis area including: Grey Eagle Distributing, H.W. Herrell Distribution Co., Krey Distributing, and Lohr Distributing Co.
- June will mark the draft release including core brands: Furious, Xtra-Citra, Sleek, Hell and Axe Man. Packaged brands will be available in St. Louis this fall.
- Bars and restaurants throughout downtown St. Louis and surrounding areas will be hosting in-market launch parties the week of June 10. Here are all the current party locations and activities (this is tentative, more may be added later):

Surly first announced possible expansion to Missouri in 2017, but had to postpone market release due to logistical challenges. The brewery thanks Missouri craft drinkers for their patience as we take a tiered approach to the market release, focusing on draft and then packaged beer in the St. Louis area. We’ll put “Gloria” on the Surly Pizza Upstairs jukebox if enough of you ask.
