…and just like that, we’re entering summer’s home stretch. The Vikings are in training camp, Target’s back-to-school section is full of notebooks and paste, and the State Fair is right around the corner.
But we’re not letting summer go without a fight. In fact, our August calendar at the Brewery is filled with music, movies, and more.
ON STAGE @ SURLY BREWING: SIX concerts at Festival Field in August. Yes, that’s a lot. Yes, we’re thrilled to be hosting that many. If we can quote Jurassic Park, and we can, hold on to your butts:

EIGHTIES WEEK, 8/22-8/28: We turn back the clock on all our Beer Hall summer programming to the halcyon 1980s, with a John Hughes double feature, DJ Jake Rudh spinning immortal new wave jams, and more. It promises to be tubular and/or gnarly.
SURLY CINEMA: If college kids can put a couch in the yard, we can watch movies outside. Surly Cinema returns to the Beer Garden every Wednesday this summer, with a selection of popcorn movies and summer favorites. Admission is free with boundless access to Surly beer, food, and pizza. Grab a spot on our lawn and enjoy the film. Please don’t bring couches. Showtime 7:30pm unless otherwise noted.

SUMMER OF SOUND: Local DJs, musicians, and tastemakers provide the soundtrack for your Thursday all summer long. Come to the Beer Garden and dance, vibe, or stand in one place while nodding your head, dads. Music plays from 6-9pm. (NOTE: No show on July 14 due to Festival Field show.)

LIVE IN THE BEER GARDEN: Live and local music takes over the Beer Garden every Sunday night. Close out the weekend the right way.

DOG DAYS OF SUMMER: Our final dog adoption event with Minnesota Pitbull Rescue this summer will be in our Beer Garden on Saturday, August 6th, from 1-3pm.
TRIVIA: In addition to Trivia Mafia holding down the quiz game at Surly Pizza Upstairs every Tuesday, Quizmasters will host a special Friends trivia night on Thursday, August 11th. Ross was the worst. That’s a free answer from us.
5K BEER RUN: The 2022 MN Brewery Running Series comes to Surly Brewing on Saturday, August 20th. They’ve mapped out a 5K course that starts and ends at Surly. Run, walk, jog—live your cardio truth! Celebrate with a free beer or N/A beverage afterwards. Register at the link!
