Get Surly at Pride

Want to get a little Surly in your Pride Weekend? We have an array of activities lined up all over the Twin Cities. They are listed below.

PRIDE BINGO

Kick off Twin Cities Pride Weekend with Pride Bingo in the Beer Garden on Thursday, June 21! This event is presented by Surly Gives a Damn, hosted by Barb & Maxi of The Barb & Maxi Show, and supports The Bridge for Youth. This event is free and open to the public, and the fun starts at 7 pm.

TREASURE CITY TRAFFIC AT CAFE & BAR LURCAT

Our newest IPA, a summer-geared tribute to the bumper-to-bumper traffic outside the Highway 10 kitsch landmark, makes its public bow at Bar Lurcat in Loring Park this week.

CAFE & BAR LURCAT SUMMER DISCO

Speaking of which, Surly is the exclusive beer sponsor of this event on Sunday. From noon-7 pm, dance your ass off and enjoy Furious, Cynic, Treasure City Traffic, and Rosé on draft, as well as cans of Hell, Xtra-Citra, and +1.

SKINNY JEANS PALE ALE/PRIDE DABBLER

Jana Shortal (KARE 11) brewed a beer with us for this year’s Pride Dabbler.  It’s a hopped-up pale ale with grapefruit. We called it Skinny Jeans in honor of the staple of Jana’s wardrobe. Naming beers should always be this easy. It will be pouring along with Rosé, Axe Man, and +1.

PRIDE TEE

Without fail, our best-selling t-shirt every summer is the Surly Pride tee. The 2018 version is now available online and in our company store. In our best TV infomercial voice, “ACT NOW!” Supplies are limited, and they’re traditionally gone within a day or two.

To summarize: Play bingo in our Beer Garden. Try our new IPA and a whole host of other Surly products at Bar Lurcat. Enjoy our collab with KARE’s Jana Shortal at Pride Dabbler. And get the Surly Pride tee to wear to these and other Pride activities. We’ll be all over the place, so join us, won’t you?

Make Your Zoom Meeting a Little More Surly

#GENERAL

The Zoom meet-up became an everyday feature of our lives just like that, didn’t it? While infinitely preferable to the other things that have come along with it (existential dread, Charmin deficits, inability to bomb the neighborhood bar’s TouchTunes with $10 worth of “All Star” on repeat), it’s been a bumpy process. We’d prefer not … Continued

Stay Home With Surly

#TheBlog

Many of us are spending more time at home lately. And by “more time” we mean “all of it.” Watching daytime TV the other day (might have been Ellen or Dr. Phil or one of those shows where people sit at a table and talk over each other for like an hour), we saw an … Continued

Be Your Own +1

We miss live music. We miss encores and wristbands. We miss First Avenue. As you know, First Avenue postponed or cancelled upcoming shows at all their properties due to the COVID-19 outbreak. It’s a substantial loss for them, their employees, the bands, and the entire community. What you can do: Buy First Avenue gift cards … Continued
