Know Before You Go: Zach Bryan @ Surly Brewing

We’ve been holding concerts at Surly for over half a decade now with our friends at First Avenue. In that time, we’ve been asked a lot of questions, from “Where can I park?” to “Are drugs legal here?” We’ll attempt to answer the most common ones below:

IS THIS AN ALL-AGES SHOW?

No. This is an 18+ show. No exceptions for toddlers or 17-year-olds. Please bring your ID.

WHEN DO THE GATES OPEN?

5:30pm. Music begins at 7:00pm.

WHERE CAN I GO BEFORE THE SHOW?

If you’re looking for a place to pregame, Surly’s Beer Hall, Beer Garden, and Pizza Upstairs are the best possible option. We open at 3pm. Burgers, pizza, 30+ beers on tap, N/A options, and plenty of room to gather if you’re meeting up with friends.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

Parking is already a challenge in our neighborhood. With our parking lot unavailable during concerts, it becomes even more limited. Our first recommendation, in all caps and boldface type: USE PUBLIC TRANSIT, BIKES, RIDE SHARES OR CARPOOL IF YOU CAN. We’re a couple blocks off the Green Line (Prospect Park Station) and even closer to the U of M Transitway. We have extra bike racks, Nice Ride stations, and a nearby Lyft drop off/pick up area. If driving is your only option, we provide valet service and neighboring businesses have kindly offered their parking lots for use during the show if you don’t mind a little walking. See the entire map below:

WHAT CAN I BRING INSIDE?

The most common line of questioning. The list is below. If you see something that isn’t on it, let us know and we’ll add it.

  • YES: Ear plugs, bug spray, sunglasses, sealed or empty water bottles (filling station onsite), hand sanitizer/wipes, breast pumps, ponchos/rain jackets. Bags and backpacks are allowed but there are bag checks and metal detectors at the gate.
  • NO: Chairs, pets, umbrellas, flasks, open containers, outside food or beverages, weapons, selfie sticks, professional photography equipment.

CAN I LEAVE AND RE-ENTER THE GROUNDS?

No. There is no access to the Beer Hall from Festival Field.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

The show is rain or shine. There will be a 30-minute hold if lightning strikes within seven miles of the grounds. The First Avenue team makes the weather calls based on National Weather Service advisories.

CASH OR CREDIT?

You can use both to get beer tickets, food, and merchandise. If you need cash, there will be ATMs available.

WHERE IS THE LOST AND FOUND?

Anything found at the show will be sent to the box office. Anything found after the show gets brought inside to the Beer Hall’s host stand.

WHAT’S AVAILABLE FOR FOOD AND DRINK AT THE CONCERT?

We have an armada of food trucks for you to enjoy once you’re in the door. These trucks will also be your best bet for any N/A beverages.

In addition, we have an array of Surly beers for you to enjoy.

  • Furious
