Holiday Hours

Hey, remember a couple weeks ago when it was 75 and the falling leaves and warm autumn breeze were like an embrace from an old friend? Anyway, that’s done now. It’s winter and you don’t know where you put your gloves* and everyone forgot how to drive and the weather will try to straight up kill you for the next 4-6 months.

One of the ways to cope with this reality is hitting up the Beer Hall and sharing a pint and some hog frites, especially if you have friends and family coming in from out of town. For the ones who can’t make it because they’re on some daylight-and-warm-weather bullshit,  you may want to pop into the Company Store for Surly-branded gifts for the beer enthusiast in your life. That’s why we want to make sure we’re open when you get here.

Here, then, are our all-caps OFFICIAL HOLIDAY HOURS for the season:

Thanksgiving Day: CLOSED

December 23: CLOSED

Christmas Eve: CLOSED

Christmas Day: CLOSED

New Year’s Eve: 11 am – 8 pm. Will feature our brunch program and a specialty infusion/cask lineup.

New Year’s Day: 11 am – 4 pm. Will feature our brunch program and a scaled-down Beer Hall menu.

Every other day from the moment you read this until 2018 will be the normal hours of operation for that day.

Other things to know:

  • FREE MONEY: Starting on Black Friday (November 24), receive a free $25 Surly Gift Card for every $100 you spend on Surly Gift Cards. This offer will run through December 31, 2017.
  • CELLAR RAID: We’re moving our last-Monday-of-the-month event up to December 18. We won’t be here on the 25th as we’ll be hip deep in egg nog and regret. Expect holiday-themed merriment and some hard-to-find beers from the cellar.
  • MORE STUFF: We have a couple other irons in the fire, beer and menu-wise. We’ll let you know when we know.

All clear? Good. Ladies and gentlemen, Merle Haggard.

*Your gloves are probably in your closet under some sweaters. If they’re not there, go to Fleet Farm and buy some choppers.

Cheers to More Darkness Day Beers

#BeerRelease, #DarknessDay

Every year, we look at ways to make the great Darkness Day (Sept. 27 & 28, Somerset, WI, tickets here) experience even greater. Never too much of a good thing and all that. One of the ways we’re doing that this year: More packaged beer. Many of you understandably hold onto your Darkness and variant … Continued

The Prost with the Most

#BeerRelease

Can a non-traditional craft brewery make a traditional Oktoberfest? That was the challenge Surly faced as we contemplated the kind of beer enjoyed for literal centuries, from Munich to Minnesota. As it turns out, the answer is “Hölle ja.” Surly Oktoberfest is rich, sweet, and malty up front, bookended by a clean, dry finish with … Continued

Surly Temple

#BeerRelease

Every great temple starts with a simple foundation and rises to spectacular heights. Temple, Surly’s BC Small Batch beer for August, earns the comparison. It starts as a relatively uncomplicated imperial kettle sour. Then the going gets weird: It’s embellished with pomegranate, mango, and peach additions. Then the going gets weirder: A heap of vanilla … Continued
