COVID Closure

Surly is not immune to the world around us, especially when it comes to COVID-19. Today, we’ve learned an employee has tested positive and we will be temporarily closing the beer hall, inside and outside.

Since we reopened our doors in June, we’ve changed our business model, sanitized obsessively, and worn masks to help keep our employees and guests safe. This was reflected in reviews that we were among the safest restaurants in town.

We’re going to take this time to add further safety steps and tweak our service model again so we’re compliant with the new Minneapolis Emergency Regulation on bar areas. When you come back to the beer hall, it’ll be another new experience. If there’s one thing we know how to do at this point, it’s adapt to change. Don’t worry, we’re keeping the food and beer thing going.

This will not impact beer. We’ll still be brewing and packaging. Your local beer stores will be stocked. Your local restaurants and bars will be pouring. Keep supporting local businesses, we still need you.

This year has not been easy for anyone. Thank you to everyone, employees, guests and Surly Nation, that are keeping us going. See you drinking.

In the spring of 2020, we sent the Surly Food Truck to various Twin Cities parking lots while the Beer Hall was grounded by the COVID shutdown.
