What up Philly – we’re coming your way next month for Brewer’s Association Craft Brewer’s Conference and we’re bringin’ our beer and we’re bringin’ the noise with heavy metal masters Mastodon at the Electric Factory with Brewer’s Supply Group and Champion Brewing on Thursday, May 5 and you can buy tickets HERE.
It’s gonna be an amazing metal show, not least because we’re bringing a special collaboration beer we brewed with Champion for the occasion – Where Strides The Bromeliad. It’s a Belgian Pineapple Golden Ale, conceived between our head of brewing operations Todd Haug and Champion founder Hunter Smith. The guys talked, and then Todd texted Mastodon drummer and beer nerd Brann Dailor to see if the band were cool with us bringing a beer. He said: “YES!” so Todd asked what should we brew. Brann answered immediately with: “Pineapple Belgian Golden Ale”. So that was that. Todd and Hunter set about figuring out the recipe, and brewed it here in Minneapolis.
Where Strides The Bromeliad will be on tap at the show. Dry-hopped with Centennial hops, this one has a dry finish and strong pineapple aroma and pairs well with MASTODON \m/.
We don’t know how you do tap takeovers over there in Philadelphia, but when we come to town, we take over. On Tuesday, May 3 we’re invading The P.O.P.E. with 19 lines of Surly. That’s Nineteen, folks. We’re also bringing the entertainment with our vinyl spinnin’ buddies Lazerbeak and Ander Other.
But that’s not all. We’re also taking part in the Charlie Bravo Charlie beer dinner at The City Taphouse on Wednesday May 4. Seven courses paired with seven beers from seven breweries – us, Flying Dog, Firestone Walker, Maui Brewing, DC Brau, Avery Brewing and 2SP Brewing. AND then, for dessert, we’re hosting a Surly and Friends takeover with Champion Brewing, Gigantic Brewing and Jack’s Abby after the dinner at Hawthornes.
Is that enough for you Philadelphia? #GetSurly and come hang out with us.
