Always
Instigating

It’s what we do. We’re not Surly because we’re dissatisfied with the status quo. We’re Surly because we do something about it. That ferocious spirit of provocation, of experimentation, of just doing the damn thing, that’s Surly.

Our BEERs

Each day, Surly relentlessly pursues craft beer perfection. Pushing boundaries, honing techniques, sweating the details, and eternally grateful that we get to do this for our job. Proudly independent since Day One and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Gourmet Munchies

4/20 is on a Saturday this year. You really have a full day to explore the space and enjoy the unofficial (and now actually very legal) holiday.

With that in mind, Gourmet Munchies returns to Surly Pizza Upstairs for a five-hour celebration!

Surly Gives a Damn (SGAD) is our charitable arm. It’s our way of giving back to the communities that built us. We contribute to organizations that make our part of the world a better place to live, through donations, partnerships and volunteer events. Our volunteers are a vital, passionate bunch, and they really do give a damn. You’re more than welcome to join. We’d love to have you.

CITIZENS OF THE DRIFTLESS: The 7th Annual Squirrelly with Surly lands in Lanesboro next weekend! One of our very favorite outstate events begins Friday night before a full-scale blowout on Saturday. Tap takeovers, live music, raffles, you name it, it's happening. Surly Gives A Damn also has a couple spots left for their Earth Day Cleanup near the river by Juniper's.

Sign up for the event and/or get full details on all the happenings at the links in our bio!
Gourmet Munchies returns in one week!
During all the eclipse coverage earlier this week, something else was blocked out: It's going to be impossibly nice this weekend. You can check the weather app on your cellular telephone or call Belinda Jensen at work, but the forecasts all agree that it's going to be summery. Or summer-adjacent, at minimum.

That can mean only one thing: Drinking Beer Outside Season is here.

With the exception of Talking Yourself Into the Vikings Again Season, Drinking Beer Outside Season is Minnesota's most beloved pastime. The brunt of winter has passed, you have 17 grad parties to attend, and Cheap Trick just sounds better on The Power Loon. With this in mind, the @surlybeerhall Patio and Beer Garden will be open for business this weekend.

If you're in town for the Frozen Four or Naz Reid, feel free to pregame or postgame at our place. The only hard decisions you need to make are what beer to order and whether to go with a hoodie and shorts or a t-shirt and jeans. What matters is that you're Drinking Beer Outside. We did it. We made it.
The final Proof Hoagie Pop-Up of the season is next Friday! Do not miss this one. 11am sharp, open until we run out.
A tradition unlike any other (because it's only been legal since 2022). Stop by the @surlybeerhall retail store and get 25% off a 4-pack of our Tea Lemonade through Sunday, April 14th.
You can get Surly all over Target Field, especially down the left field line.
The real Path of Totality.
Today is National Beer Day. Celebrate accordingly.
Not so long ago, Twins Opening Day meant going to a large pillow-looking building in Minneapolis. You battled a gale-force wind tunnel to enter and exit, there was a giant milk jug down the right field line, and your seat faced one of the dugouts. What an absolute dump. We still kind of miss it.

That said, Target Field is one of America's best stadiums, and as @insidehook notes, one of the Top Ten ballparks for craft beer fans thanks to a robust selection of beers and also this: "You absolutely can’t go wrong sipping on a Surly Furious IPA while taking in a Twins game."

We agree, and just want to add that you can also find Surly Lemonade, Mosh Pit Hazy IPA, and Mosh Pit Juicy Pale Ale at the yard this season.

Play ball, and remember: There is no smoking in the Metrodome.
It's generally acknowledged that the only thing better than Furious is more Furious. We agree, and we've done something about it.

Raging Furious Imperial IPA doubles down on the entire Furious experience, roaring to life with aggressive hops and malt sweetness. Amplifying the citrus character and caramel backbone of the original, Raging Furious finishes with a barleywine-like complexity. At 11% ABV, it's one for sipping and savoring.

This limited release is available to the entire Surly footprint on draft and in tallboy 4-packs. Rage on.
SPREAD THE WORD: We're hiring shift brewers at both our Minneapolis and Brooklyn Center locations! Competitive pay, benefits, the whole nine. Link in our bio or just paste this into your browser: https://surlybrewing.com/jobs/
March ends tomorrow. Merch Madness ends tomorrow. Get 20% off all Surly merch and use those savings for discount Easter candy on Monday. Link to retail store in our bio.
We had a "Get Ready for Summer with Surly Lemonade" photo shoot scheduled.

Minnesota thought that was cute.
