Spoon & Grizzly Bear at Festival Field

In conjunction with Jam Productions and First Avenue, Surly welcomes Spoon and Grizzly Bear, along with special guest Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, to Surly Festival Field for an 18+ show on Saturday, June 30, 2018.

WEATHER: Our shows are rain or shine. We work with the National Weather Service to monitor what’s happening and adjust set times as needed to accommodate the best weather. Keep an eye on Surly and First Avenue’s social media channels for up-to-date information the day of the show. If the show does need to be cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions, First Avenue will be in communication with all ticket holders about next steps. 

Other things to keep top of mind for Saturday:  

  • Surly Brewing Festival Field is located at 520 Malcolm Avenue SE Minneapolis, MN 55414
  • 21+ can enjoy Surly beers (of course)
  • Food vendors will be on-site
  • There are water filling stations – feel free to bring an empty or sealed bottle
  • Umbrellas are not allowed inside the gates. Ponchos will be available for purchase onsite at the merch area.
  • There is little to NO parking available on-site.
  • Use a car service, bike, or take the bus or light rail.

Extra bike racks will be available for you to safely store your two-wheel mode of transportation

$1 per ticket on the Spoon and Grizzly Bear tour will go to PLUS1 in support of Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund’s mission to prevent gun violence and build safer communities (www.everytown.org).


  • Arrival & Parking: Concert-goers should take alternate transport if at all possible. There will be VERY limited parking. Overflow parking will be available at SKB, CSM and UEL lots all starting at 5 PM. The Green Line is a great way to get here, as we are located just down the block from the Prospect Park stopBIKING IS AN EXTREMELY GOOD OPTION! Bring your own or use Nice Ride to get to Surly Festival Field. Everyone will be ID'd at the gate.
  • Cash/Credit: You can use cash or credit to get beer tickets, food and merch. If you do need cash, there will be an ATM in the concert venue for your use.
  • Other: No outside food or beverage, no chairs, no umbrellas. Breast pumps are allowed. There will be NO RE-ENTRY once you exit the venue. And as ever, don’t be dumb or we will throw you out.


  • Food/Drink: There will be an arsenal of food trucks in the venue. So come hungry and ready to eat some delicious grub. There will also be N/A beverages available for purchase at the food trucks. And, yes, there will be plenty of opportunity for you to grab a beer—so come thirsty, too. Only beer TICKETS will be accepted at the beer tents, so be sure to buy those before going up to order. As always, drink responsibly and don’t be dumb.
  • IDs: Bring ‘em! The show is 18+ and the beer is 21+.
  • WATER: Feel free to bring a SEALED OR EMPTY WATER BOTTLE to the venue. There will be a water station inside for you to fill it up. Water bottles will also be available for sale at the merchandise tent. “Hydration is important.” –Abraham Lincoln, our 16th President.


For anyone NOT attending the show who still wants to hit up the Beer Hall, here’s what YOU should know:

  • There will still be limited parking, but you can also park in the overflow lots (SKB, CSM & UEL Lots) starting at 5pm, and we’ll have valet available as well.
  • We will be running the Beer Hall business-as-usual, same hours, same menu. With an expected 5,000 folks coming to the concert venue, we DO recommend that you get here a little earlier that you’d expect to grab a table.
